India made a tryst with destiny, yet again, on 24th September 2014. We successfully launched our maiden Mars Orbiter Mission. Working on a frugal budget, scientists at ISRO nailed it right at the very first attempt. A record that has evaded even the USA and Russia. At $74m, this interplanetary space mission from India is the cheapest one.
