Tips to Manipulate Typography in PowerPoint Presentation
Varying Font Attributes
One of the ways to highlight key data is by using different font sizes to make it stand out from the rest of the text. Making the keywords bold in a chunk of text also helps not only the presenter but the audience understand the important information in a slide quickly.
Visual Effects on Text
Other ways of manipulating typography in PowerPoint so that data is highlighted includes using text effects available in PowerPoint 2007 and newer versions. Select the relevant text in the text box and go to Format>WordArt Styles> Text Effects and apply any one of the following text effects: Shadow, Reflection, Glow, Bevel, 3-D Rotation and Transform.
Animation Effects on Text
Animation effects such as fades and blinds will help the presenter highlight talking points, especially those in a bulleted list. To apply the effects, click on the border of the text box containing the bulleted list and go to Animations on the ribbon in PowerPoint 2007 and choose an effect from the Entrance group. You can change the duration of the effect on each bullet point by changing the attributes in the Animations>Timing panel.
