It was in the same year that Orkut and Facebook came into existence. But while people are celebrating Facebook’s 10 year in existence, few recall what Orkut even looked like. And Facebook pulled all the stops to get to where it stands today, and not without a lot of adversity and competition too. But Facebook wasn’t the only most popular social networking site that was launched in 2004. Yet it’s success and coverage is undeniable.
And to demonstrate how Facebook compares in the world, I’ve used our Editable PowerPoint World Map. The map is complete with all the continents and countries and each fully editable as well. But for the purposes of this exercise, I have removed the continent of Antarctica. After creating a legend using different colors, I first ungrouped the map. To ungroup, I clicked on the map and then used Ctrl + Shift + G. After that it was easy enough and I had to simply click on each individual country and change the colors as per the legend.
For the countries where I didn’t have the data, I used a pattern fill. To do that, I right-clicked on a particular country and then selected Format Shape. Then I chose the Fill and clicked on Pattern fill. After that, it’s only a matter of selecting the appropriate pattern. See the image below.
