Editable diagrams can of course be modified to change colors and suit the overall palette of a particular PowerPoint presentation. They are thus extremely versatile and also help save time so that you don’t have to create a new image from scratch each time a new PPT has to be made. But don’t limit yourself to using solid colors in editable images. You can apply gradients in these images as well as patterns and enhance their visual appeal. To apply gradients, simply select the elements which you wish to modify and go to Home> Drawing Shape Fill>Gradient and to apply patterns, go to Shape Fill>Textures.
Images don’t need to be two dimensional and flat – with PowerPoint 2007 and newer versions, you can apply a range of effects to help visuals pop up. Select the images or elements of the editable images and go to Home> Drawing>Shape Effects and choose from the gallery. You can add bevels, emboss, give shadows and so on.
Diagrams such as the Hierarchical Chart and Sankey Diagram from 24point0 can be easily edited to change colors and given three-dimensional effects.
