Make Your Presentations Come Alive with Animation
Static presentations do the job. But how do you make sure that what you say in your presentation is memorable? How do you build up interest in what you want to say? If you have a set of incremental data points, don’t put all of them on the slide at once. Use the wide variety of animation effects (Animations tab) that PowerPoint has to capture your audience’s attention. Along with the standard effects of slides, wipes and fades, you get options to slow or speed up the effects (Animations>Timing).
Animation effects in PowerPoint can be a powerful tool to make interesting presentations. But keep in mind that content is key and these effects are in essence, surface treatment. Keep it simple when it comes to animation effects – use one type of animation effect per slide rather than multiple effects that will distract the audience. So if you’re using the Appear effect on one element, use the same for other elements on the slide as well. PowerPoint also has the Transitions feature that controls transitions between slides. You can control the timing for the transitions using Transitions>Timing.
