PowerPoint presentations are a visual medium of communication and therefore readability is key if your PPT has to be a success. Ensure that the size of the fonts you use in your PPT are at least 30 points. When it comes to the type of fonts to use in PPTs, consultants will find a large variety available and will be tempted to use ornate fonts that may look good visually but cannot be read with ease. Stick to commonly used and available fonts such as Arial or Times New Roman and give the script fonts a wide berth – they are difficult to read on regular computer screens and impossible to decipher when projected. Also avoid using italics when you wish to emphasize a word or phrase and instead bold the text or use contrasting colors.
