To copy an Excel chart in PowerPoint, select the chart in the Excel file and press CTRL + C. In PowerPoint, either go to Home>Clipboard>Paste or press CTRL + V. Paste Options will appear next to the chart and you can choose the formatting you need. The chart can either be linked to the source Excel data (Chart – linked to Excel data); linked to the entire workbook (Excel Chart – entire workbook); pasted as a pictured; pasted in the original formatting (Keep Source Formatting); or pasted using the presentation theme. Other formatting options are available in the Paste Special list accessed by clicking on the arrow next to the Paste button. Format available here include Picture or Bitmap; editable Microsoft Office Graphic Object; editable Microsoft Office Excel Chart Object; and Object Linking and Embedding (OLE). If you choose to paste the chart as a Microsoft Office Excel Chart Object, you can edit the chart using the PowerPoint chart tools.
